LABORATORY

LAB WORK

Urine tests, blood tests, and other kinds of lab work help doctors diagnose illnesses and to monitor effects of various treatments. These

tests are valuable in identifying the real cause of symptoms you are

experiencing, and ensure that the medications are working as exected. We can perform various laboratory tests to manage your

overall health.

CBC Blood Test
CBC, or Complete Blood Count blood test, is the screening tool for

those with inflammation, anemia, and infection. It is a test that evaluates the total number of red and white blood cells as well as the

platelets within your blood. Also, it is a test that checks the hemoglobin count of your red blood cells. This is also a test that determines whether a patient is healthy enough to have surgery and

other procedures.

Clotting Tests
There are several substances found in your blood that cause clotting

after a cut or any other injury. Through this test, doctors can determine whether you are in the risk of bleeding disorders or blood clots. Taking blood thinners, like warfarin and heparin, can be used during clotting tests for monitoring your progress. Abnormal results mean that you have to decrease or increase the dosage of medication to prevent the bleeding problems or help with clotting.

Metabolic Panels

Comprehensive and basic metabolic panels are tools used for determining the function of your liver and kidneys. This will identify any electrolyte imbalances and is helpful in diagnosing other disorders. The basic metabolic panel determines the total amount of chloride, sodium, carbon dioxide, creatinine, potassium, glucose, and BUN, or blood urea nitrogen. The comprehensive metabolic panel checks the same components in the basic metabolic panel, but also includes albumin, calcium, bilirubin, aspartate aminotransferase, or AST, and other components within your blood.

Lipid Panel
This is a useful tool that can determine your possible risk of suffering

from a stroke or heart disease. It also determines the total choles-
terol level in your body, and gives you a breakdown of the levels of

low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and high-density lipoprotein (HDL).
Cholesterol can reduce the blood flow in your body, which increases
your risk of having a heart attack.

Other Available Tests
We also conduct additional lab tests in house including:

  • Strep throat

  • Flu

  • Diabetes

  • Infectious mononucleosis
